Interdisciplinary Artist

My work is deeply rooted in the rich traditions, histories, and lived experiences of Black and African American culture. Through my creative process, I transform these ideas into visual narratives that elevate our culture while also challenging and expanding the conversations surrounding it. I do not only create visually compelling work but my work also sparks dialogue, evokes emotion, and inspires reflection. The work I have created is a means of preserving our stories, reclaiming our spaces, and imagining new futures. My work is a contribution to an artistic landscape where our culture is celebrated and the truth is acknowledged. I invite my audience to engage, learn, and see the world through a lens that honors the depth and richness of our heritage. I also believe art created by African Americans should benefit the agency of the population there are already enough racial and stigmatized images in the media and our goal is to counter those images by creating art for African Americans that embraces the culture while also expressing its contemporary emotions while approaching social issues that affect and surround African Americans on a daily basis.
